This is the PLATINUM plan tour where you can enjoy stores that are limited to this tour. ( We also offer a slightly more casual GOLD course.) Keep in mind that both courses are very different from the tours offered by other tour companies. Take your pick.
The shops we visit on this tour offer rare parts and types of fish and meat! Remember that in Japan it is common to share dishes if you are eating in a group.
So welcome to the most Amazing, DEEP and exciting tour in Shinjuku for bar hopping! The selection of the restaurants we will visit in this tour is made by Mr. Omori, the president of the publishing company “H14”, who wrote a book (mook) introducing the DEEPest bars in Shinjuku. Mr. Omori has also appeared on famous Japanese TV programs such as “Matsuko no Shiranai Sekai” (The World That Matsuko Doesn’t Know) to introduce some of the DEEPEST places to drink in Shinjuku. So, he knows what he is talking about! He is well known when it comes to what is what Shinjuku. This tour is a chance to visit the restaurants that he has selected and that even very few Japanese people can get in.
For this tour, we have chosen three restaurants, one in each of the three districts.
The first stop on the tour is Memories Alley or Omoide Yokocho, which started as a black market 80 years ago and became the prototype for today’s Memories Yokocho. The first stop is Naka-dori Street, the main street of the historical Omoide Yokocho, which still retains the atmosphere of those days. We have struck a nice bargain with a number of stores in Naka-dori, so you’ll be able to enjoy the specialty dishes of each store, whether it is a stew or yakitori, a very popular choice.
After Memoide Yokocho, we will walk to Kabukicho. Enjoy the guided tour of the town under the neon lights.
In Kabukicho, you will start with a good meal. Since we’ll have plenty of time, feel free to consult with the guide about your plans for the rest of your journey in Japan. We are sure we can make some good suggestions for your next travels.
The last stop of the tour is “Golden Gai” or “Golden Street”. This is another maze of streets with a history of over 80 years, with nearly 300 stores. Once upon a time this was a red-light district. The red-light district has now been transformed into bar-style establishments.
We also have partnered with a number of stores in the Golden Gai area. If you like the retro style atmosphere and very personalized service then the Golden Gai bars are for you . It is rare to find a tour that takes you to the Golden Gai. Enjoy the Golden Gai bars and communicating with the bar owners there.
You will feel that the three-and-a-half-hour tour, which includes three stops, will be over in no time at all.
We are sure that you will have a lot of fun, create unforgettable memories and feel how valuable this experience is.
We are looking forward to seeing you!
Kindly take note that smoking is allowed in “most”shops( many of the shops are old and have a long history).

After meeting Yodai our friendly guide we set off on our culinary and bar hopping adventure. The first place we went to in one of the back alleys of Shinjuku we ate some food I have never tried before like grilled frog and tuna cheek. Itu0027s true what they say frog tastes just like chicken. For drinks I went for apricot liquor but my friend being a little more adventurous tried the snake liquor. After a little coxing I gave it a try, and it was actually quite good. After that we went to a more traditional style Japanese izakaya where we ate our fill of sumptuous Japanese dishes and had an interesting conversation with our guide about Japanese culture who we discovered was also a professional DJ. Finally, we had a little stroll around Golden Gai soaking up the atmosphere and ended up in a high-class bar where we tried various kinds of sake, brewed by the bar owneru0027s relatives in north Japan. Great chance to visit some places I probably would never have I found by myself. Truely enjoyable tour.
Good photo opportunities, a wide variety of food and drink, and friendly, knowledgeable guides!
